The Hoy No Circula program will be implemented this Friday, February 7, in Mexico City and 18 municipalities in the State of Mexico. Vehicles with blue stickers, license plate endings 9 and 0, as well as holograms 1 and 2 must remain at home. There will be no double Hoy No Circula because the air quality remained good the previous day, so an environmental contingency was not declared in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico.
The Hoy No Circula is a measure that is implemented in case of environmental contingency to reduce ozone particles. This Friday, electric vehicles, hybrids, those with ecological plates, or holograms "00" and "0" will be allowed to circulate. Also exempt are vehicles of health workers, school transport, funeral processions, vehicles for people with disabilities, public transport, motorcycles with a valid Tourist Pass, as well as cars with pink, yellow, green, and red stickers.
In the words of the authorities: "It is important to remember and respect the provisions of the Hoy No Circula program to contribute to the improvement of air quality in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico."
